Milwaukee or bust

I'd never been to WI before, but Matt had both a race and a childhood best friend there, so I made the trek on up there. My trip started off with a 4 hour plane delay. If you are aware of me and my travel luck, this will come as no shock. Luckily the Charlotte airport is full of these to make the wait a bit more comfortable.
Upon our arrival, little Alex could hardly contain all his excitement for visitors. Alex has much more 'upbeat' photos on his moms blog.
Matt and Wade messing around with Alex's jogging stroller. You can definitely tell they were childhood buddies and could see the mischief on their faces once they got together.
Matt chillaxin'.
The race was scheduled for Friday night, so we headed over to the track. Wade and Holly Live less than 10 minutes from the track... But as we arrived the sky started looking mean.
We parked and made our way in, but Wade could help, but get a huge hand dipped corndog.
Even with the menacing sky, Matt still had to get all the equipment prepared for the race.
The rain started, and they tried to wait it out to still run on Friday, but it never let up all night (it finally stopped at about 4 in the am...). Luckily We got to 'wait out the rain' in the comfort of the hauler lounge. We waited about and hour or so before they called the race and moved it to the next day.
By Saturday afternoon the weather had completely turned around and produced beautiful racing weather. Wade loved his corndog the night before SO much that he just had to have another, and so did I, but his photo was better :)
Matt sitting on the pitbox with his 'game face' on.
Me, sitting on the pit wall watching the race. The officials are so much more relaxed than at 'big' races. In Daytona, they would have never let me sit like that on the wall...
It was a fun trip. I was glad to finally meet the fabulous Holly, and visit a state I'd never been to. And to top it all off, Matt's team got another double 10 finish!
