Hot-Lanta!

My awesome friend Angie invited a bunch of us gal pals on a little weekend trip to Atlanta.  The main purpose was to watch her brother perform (he's an opera singer...).  The second objective was to have some fun girl time completely sans-kiddos!  The third objective was to shop, shop, shop!

We made record time to Atlanta, even considering my hour-into-the-trip potty break :).  Then we checked into our hotel, got all dolled up and met Angie's brother for some fabulous Thai food (seriously, SO good.  If you're ever in Atlanta make sure you go to Nan Thai!).

Next, we walked over to the concert hall and walked around the grounds before the performance started.  The show was a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  It was a hodge-podge of pieces, from Bach (Thomas' piece), to symphony, to acted-opera.  I would have loved to hear more from Thomas, but we'll just have to go on another girls only trip when he's in the area again.

After the show we hung out with Angie's bro and another performer (James, from England) at a near by pub.  We ordered all the desserts they offered and shared them around the table.  I don't think we got back to the hotel and in bed before 1:30 am or so...  Whew!  SO late!

In the morning we met up again with Thomas and James for some breakfast.  After that feast we dropped off the boys so they could head home to their respective families and we headed for the outlets for some shopping!  I got some great stuff including: shoes (both some for me and some for the boys.  Thanks to this awesome stranger who gave me a 30% off your entire purchase coupon :), a couple pairs of shorts, a few tops and a swim cover up.

What a great time!  I'm already ready for another girls only trip!
